TOP TIPS FOR MAINTAINING YOUR CLIPPERS

Oil the blades between clients.

Brush off cut hair from the nosepiece and blades of the clipper between clients.

Remove the blades weekly, and clean the cut hair from behind the nosepiece. This will ensure good performance and is necessary on hygiene grounds.

Have the clipper serviced regularly. The time period will be governed by usage, but I recommend 6-month intervals as a rule of thumb.

Every 12 months the clipper should be Portable Appliance Tested by a competent person. This is part of a service at Wahl (UK) and ensures longevity of your product.

Use a sterilizing or hygiene spray on a regular basis.

Check blade alignment. Poorly aligned blades will not cut effectively, and can be potentially harmful to the client.

Check the condition of the power cord on a regular basis. Do not allow it to become twisted up.

Never hang the clipper up by the power cord. All WAHL clippers have a rubber hook to hang the product from.

Should the clipper be dropped, look for broken blade teeth, check blade alignment and inspect the outer case for damage. Any remedial work should occur before next use.
